Dúhový Pride Bratislava (Rainbow Pride Bratislava) is an annual LGBTQ+ pride event held in the capital of Slovakia, celebrating diversity, equality, and love. It is Slovakia's largest LGBTQ+ pride with over 15 000 visitors attending each year.
The LGBTQ+ community in Slovakia faces significant challenges, with limited legal recognition and societal acceptance. Same-sex marriages and civil unions are not legally recognized, and same-sex couples lack adoption rights which are restricted to single individuals regardless of sexual orientation.
The Food Zone at Rainbow Pride Bratislava is a vibrant street food park featuring over 20 vendors and restaurants from across Slovakia. It offers a diverse range of cuisines, including Slovak, Asian, American, and Mexican dishes, providing attendees with a rich culinary experience. The Food Zone Manager is responsible for curating this experience by identifying and engaging potential vendors and restaurants interested in participating. This role involves effectively communicating the event’s policies, terms, and conditions, as well as addressing vendor-specific needs throughout the pre-production phase and during the event itself. The manager ensures a seamless and enjoyable experience for both vendors and attendees, contributing to the overall success of the food zone.
SAPPHIC RIDE
Founder and Producer
Sapphic Ride is a multi-genre party created to celebrate and provide an inclusive space for lesbians and the broader FLINTA (Female, Lesbian, Intersex, Non-binary, Trans, and Agender) community. Founded by Lucia Horváthová, Nikola Kišová, and Miriam Fulmeková, it holds the distinction of being the only lesbian-focused party in Slovakia.
Nikola and Miriam curate the musical experience as DJs, while Lucia oversees the event's production. Unlike the relatively vibrant party scene for gay men in Slovakia, with events occurring biweekly, the lesbian and FLINTA communities lack dedicated and safe social venues. Sapphic Ride was established to fill this gap, creating a welcoming environment for individuals to connect, celebrate, and enjoy a sense of community.
